They've survived auditions, Bootcamp, the Six-Chair Challenge and Judges' Houses. 

And now it's time for the X Factor final 12 - plus one wildcard act - to take to the stage for the first live shows this weekend, after starring in their first glamorous photoshoot. 

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Simon Cowell, Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw are all hoping they've got the winning act in the category - but who's it going to be?

Show-time: The X Factor final 12 - including wildcard act Monica Michael - will take to the stage for the first live shows this weekend, after starring in their first glamorous photoshoot

He only joined the panel this year, but there's no denying that BBC Radio 1 Breakfast DJ Nick Grimshaw, 31, has the most talked-about category of them all.

Because after putting Tom Bleasby through to Judges' Houses, the X Factor hopeful dropped out of the competition - and was replaced with badboy Mason Noise.

The talented singer impressed both Nick and his celebrity mentor Mark Ronson and was put through the live shows - but the crowd jeered when his name was chosen. 

He'll be competing against flamboyant Seann Miley Moore and Ché Chesterman - who already reckons he can win.

Fascinating Fact: Ché’s dad - also called Che Chesterman! - once auditioned for The X Factor in 2006 and made it through to Boot Camp

Aside from the fact that she's had to choose three groups to take through to the lives, she's had to deal with the fact that nearly every one of her groups has changed their names for legal reasons. 

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is surely hoping, then, that fans will still get behind their favourite act and vote to keep them in the competition. 

Filipino girlband 4th Impact - previously 4th Power - wowed the judges with their initial audition, but former dancers Alien Uncovered are hot on their heels. 

THE GROUPS - CHERYL FERNANDEZ-VERSINI 

Girl group: Alien Uncovered (formerly Alien) are one of two girl bands in Cheryl's Groups category, along with 4th Impact

Alien Uncovered (formerly Alien)

Who? The band are Madison (19), Natalie (18), Temple (24), Frank (17), Yaz (23) and Shae (23).

History: They have been together for 18 months

First Audition: The Black Eyed Peas' Pump It

Fascinating Fact: The girls came up with their name after people kept staring at them on a train because of the way they looked, stating: 'We felt like aliens… so we thought it would be a good name for the band'

4th Impact: The Filipino girlgroup brought the sass to their initial audition

Who? Mylene (23), Irene (25), Almira (27) and Celina (19)

History: The band are four sisters who have grown up singing and dancing together in the Philippines

First Audition: Jessie J's Bang Bang

Fascinating Fact: The girls have won the World Championships of Performing Arts contest twice

Duo: Reggie n Bollie - originally from Ghana - bring a sense of fun to the competition

Who? Reggie (31) and Bollie (29)

History: The band, hailing from Ghana, have been together for three and a half years

First Audition: Own song, Turn It Up

Fascinating Fact: In Ghana, Reggie released three songs in 2006 called Virgin, For Sale and Adoma. In 2004, Bollie also had a hit called You May Kiss The Bride 

Hard work: Cheryl hopes to have a winning group in her category - but the competition is tougher than ever this year

She thought she'd chosen her top three to put through to the live shows - but there was just one contestant that she couldn't let get away. 

Rita Ora persuaded her fellow judges to let her bring Monica Michael through as a wildcard act after impressing her with her original song My Angel at Judges' Houses.

The judges agreed - meaning the Girls category is the only one with four acts, and Monica's through to the live shows for the first time after getting a 'no' from Cheryl at the Six-Chair Challenge in 2014, .

But Monica faces stiff competition in the form of Kiera, plus Lauren and Louisa who have been singing since they were eight and 11 respectively.

THE GIRLS - RITA ORA 

First Audition: Jocelyn Brown's Somebody Else's Guy

Fascinating Fact: Lauren’s idol is Whitney and she is desperate to sing one of her songs now that she is in the Live Shows after the Judges stopped her from singing Whitney in her first audition 

First Audition: Christina’s Aguilera’s Impossible

Fascinating Fact: Monica works for a charity called DJ MC Academy, which helps children and young people by providing a positive gateway for young people in need of inspiration.

First Audition: Michael Jackson's Who's Loving You

Fascinating Fact: Louisa is still at college, with the singer admitting: 'Its weird still being at college, even the teachers are talking about me, everyone been so nice' 

First Audition: Ella Eyre's We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off

Fascinating Fact: Kiera can bust out some serious shapes, confessing: 'Rita doesn’t know I can dance I want to surprise everyone at the lives, I’m an A-level dance student' 

He admitted the competition wouldn't be the same without him, and for that reason Simon Cowell couldn't not put Anton Stephans through to the lives.

The animated star - who's a former backing singer for acts including Tina Turner and Elton John has fast becoming a fan favourite of The X Factor for his cheeky, bubbly personality - and wicked grin. 

Lovable Anton previously suffered from Micro Melanoma, but has been in remission for 18 months.

He'll be up against Bupsi - previously a Tina Turner tribute act - and Max Stone, who credits music for helping him get out of his wild child ways.

First Audition: Bob Marley's No Woman No Cry

Fascinating Fact: Max wrote his first song when he was just 10-years old and his biggest musical achievement was performing at the Roundhouse in Camden with Jimmy Cliff and Maxi Priest
