FUNDI AJINYONGA

First Glimpses Of Chelsea Clinton’s New Baby Girl [Photos]

CLINTON-2-articleLarge
Chelsea Clinton Mezvinsky and husband Marc released the first photo of their new baby, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky. New grandparents Bill and Hillary Clinton quickly followed suit with their own photos. The family welcomed a baby girl into the world on Friday. The news was announced on Twitter, where Chelsea wrote that she and her husband were “full of love, awe and gratitude as we celebrate the birth of our daughter, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky.”
Proud grandparents!
Proud grandparents!
The Mezvinskys live in New York City, but the family did not say where the child was born or provide additional details on her birth. What is known is how grandparents, former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, feel about becoming grandparents! In a joint statment released on Saturday, the Clintons said that “Chelsea is well and glowing. Marc is bursting with pride. Charlotte’s life is off to a good start.”
Even before little Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky’s arrival, her appearance has been eagerly anticipated. Hillary Clinton has referred to the prospect of becoming a grandma the “most exciting title yet.” Prior to Charlotte’s arrival, Hillary Clinton had even picked out the first books she planned on reading her new grandchild, beginning with the classic Goodnight, Moon.
Bill Clinton has been as equally eager to become a grandparent as wife Hillary. In fact, his phone ringer was even left on during an event with former President George W. Bush in September…and his cell phone did ring on stage. He explained that only two people had that number, and that they were both related to him…and then added that he hoped he wasn’t becoming a “premature grandfather.” Former President Clinton was also supposed to appear at a fundraiser in Denver to help Democrats running for both Senate and the governor’s seat this last Saturday, but instead he literally phoned in his 11-minute speech, delivering it by speakerphone. As Clinton told the crowd, “I hope I get an excused absence. You all know my family just got a little bigger, and I figured I should stay home where I’m really needed.”
Looks like Charlotte already has them wrapped around her finger!
Looks like Charlotte already has them wrapped around her finger!
Now that the eagerly anticipated Clinton baby has arrived, many are waiting for Hillary’s announcement as a presidential candidate for the 2016 race. Hillary Clinton herself has said repeatedly that she didn’t want to make any decisions about another campaign until the baby’s arrival, saying that she simply wanted to enjoy becoming a grandmother for the first time and to focus on that.
Certainly, the smitten looks on the Clintons’ faces as they look at their new granddaughter show that they are more than enjoying their new titles as Grandma and Grandpa! And it may be that they are holding the only baby in the world who might one day be able to claim that both her grandpa and grandma were President of the United States of America

Vladimir Putin May Threaten World War 3, But Thousands Of Russians Are Marching For Ukraine

Vladimir Putin May Threaten World War 3, But Thousands Of Russians Are Marching For Ukraine
ADVERTISEMENT
When Vladimir Putin discusses the possibility of World War 3 he appears to be speaking out of both sides of his mouth. Putin extends an olive branch by declaring Russia has no plans for “large-scale conflicts” over the Ukraine war, yet at the same time makes threatening statements about Russia’s nuclear weapons and the Russian military’s ability to invade eastern European nations. Tens of thousands of Russian apparently feel enough is enough and have been marching in protest in Moscow.
In a related report by The Inquisitr, former presidential adviser Andrey Illarionov claimed that Vladimir Putin has been planning for a major war since at least 2003. But Nigel Farage, leader of the United Kingdom Independence Party, suggests that the U.S. and Russia need to stop squabbling over Ukraine and instead enlist Putin to focus on the larger threat of the Islamic State. There’s also some who blame the United States for instigating World War 3, although some conspiracy theorists go way out into left field by suggesting a Jewish conspiracy out of Israel is pushing for WW3.
Earlier in the month, Vladimir Putin painted the Ukraine war as being like World War II, except in this case the U.S.-backed Ukraine are the Nazis and the Russian separatists are the Soviet citizens of Leningrad.
“Small villages and large cities are surrounded by the Ukrainian army, which is directly hitting residential areas with the aim of destroying the infrastructure,” Putin said. “It sadly reminds me of the events of the Second World War, when German fascist… occupiers surrounded our cities.”
According to the Los Angeles Times, Putin also warned the West that it’s “best not to mess with us” while also saying, “”Thank God, I think no one is thinking of unleashing a large-scale conflict with Russia. I want to remind you that Russia is one of the leading nuclear powers.”
According to the Pew Research Center, 52 percent of Russians believe that Ukraine has “become a puppet in the hands of the West and the U.S.A., who are pursuing an anti-Russia policy.” The 48 percent of Russian who apparently disagreed with Vladimir Putin rose up in massive protests, with an estimated 50,000 to 100,000 people marching through downtown Moscow during this past week. Demonstrators for the People’s Freedom Party, Yabloko, and Progress Party were heard chanting, “peace to Ukraine, freedom to Russia” and “no Putin, no war,” and “Russia without Putin.”
Russia Vladimir Putin March Of Peace 2
Boris Nemtsov is a former Russian deputy prime minister who helped organize the march against Vladimir Putin. He wrote on Facebook that “not even the lying propaganda machine [of the Kremlin] can dismiss tens of thousands of educated and free-thinking people as a fringe.” Nemtsov also painted Putin as the aggressor pushing for World War 3.
“The main outcome in Russia was a serious anti-war movement and peace party, which today look dignified and powerful; especially against the backdrop of a war party, whose leader is Putin…. The March was attended by some nationalists and left-wing organization that indicates a serious schism in the left and the nationalist movement on the issue of war with Ukraine. Because Putin is for war, the march of peace was pronounced as anti-Putin in nature…. The march had a very important psychological effect. Supporters of the world saw each other and it turned out there is a lot of us; very much! It attaches and strengthens our faith in our victory.”
Supporters of Vladimir Putin’s policies were also vocal in their support. A counter-protest to the march attempted to hold flags in support of Putin and also for the “Donetsk People’s Republic,” which is located in eastern Ukraine, but it’s claimed their efforts were drowned out by the pro-Ukraine protesters. It’s also claimed these people were “aggressive” and “drunk” and attempted to provoke the pro-Ukraine protesters.
According to the Associated Press, Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov accused the United States of not being able to abandon its Cold War “genetic code.” He also claimed the Ukraine war was the result of an uprising against former pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovich “backed by the US and the European Union for the purpose of pulling Kiev out of its ‘organic role as a binding link between’ east and west, denying it the opportunity for ‘neutral and non-bloc status.'” Although German foreign minister claimed the Russian annexation of Crimea “broke international law,” Lavroy said the Russian-speaking population made the final decision.
What do you think about the allegations by these Russian protesters that Vladimir Putin is pushing for war?

Istanbul (AFP) - Three Turkish police were killed after an ambush in Turkey's overwhelmingly Kurdish southeast, in an attack claimed Saturday by armed Kurdish militants despite a one-and-a-half-year ceasefire.
The private Dogan news agency said traffic police on the highway between the southeastern cities of Diyarbakir and Bitlis were attacked with rocket-propelled grenades and rifles late Friday.
Another team of police were deployed as reinforcements as the clashes continued, but their vehicle overturned in an "accident" at the scene, the agency added, without giving further details.
Dogan quoted Bitlis governor Orhan Ozturk as saying that five police were taken to hospital. Three died of their wounds while the two others were receiving treatment.
NTV television showed the three police being given a funeral with full honours in Bitlis, their coffins draped in the Turkish flag.
There was no further information on the assailants from the authorities, with the ambush coming at a time of mounting tensions between the government and Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) rebels.
- 'PKK wing claims attack' -
But the People's Defence Forces (HPG) -- the military wing of the PKK -- claimed on its website it had attacked the police as a warning to the Turkish government.
It said its "guerilla forces had carried out the action from a close distance".
It also claimed another attack outside Diyarbakir on Friday, which it said had killed one Turkish policeman. This purported incident has not been reported by Turkish media.
"If the Turkish government does not abandon its murderous actions... then our answer will be clear," the HPG said.
If confirmed, the attack by the HPG would be a significant breach of the ceasefire between the PKK and Turkish authorities, which has largely held since March 2013 despite stalling peace talks.
Several Kurdish militant factions have warned violence could break out again if the government does not produce a convincing roadmap for the peace process by the end of the month.
The PKK, which has been observing a truce in its 30-year insurgency in the southeast, is angry at Turkish policy on Syria as Islamic State (IS) militants advance on the Syrian Kurdish town of Ain al-Arab.
Some 160,000 mainly Kurdish refugees have fled across the border into Turkey, but Ankara infuriated Kurdish rebels last week by not allowing some back into Syria to fight the Islamists.
The ruling Islamic-rooted Justice and Development Party (AKP) has insisted it remains committed to ending Turkey's insurgency, which has claimed 40,000 lives over the last three decades.
"We have reached a very valuable point in the peace process and I know its value," the CNN-Turk television channel quoted Deputy Prime Minister Yalcin Akdogan as saying Saturday.
"Tearing this up or making threats is not going to get us anywhere and is just going to create problems. Let's sit down and talk," he added.
